Park Host(s) Wanted!

The Park host(s) gives visitors their first impression of Gulkana River RV Park. The host(s) provides hospitality to park guests and promotes safe use of park facilities. The host(s) also gives valuable insights on guest experiences and impressions to park owner/operator through daily contact with park guests.  The park is open from June 1st until July 19th.

What are the duties of a GRRVP park host?

bullet Greet guests, check them in, answer their questions and orient them to the park.
bulletAll guests are prepaid and all others are directed to our sales office, 3 miles south at Gakona Junction.
bulletUnderstand and be able to explain park rules and regulations to campers. Be accessible to campers for comments and complaints.
bulletAssist and direct park maintenance: pick up litter, clean sites and cabins after guests check out.
bulletContact park staff and/or other law enforcement personnel about park emergencies.
bulletSet example for others by keeping host site clean and neat.
bulletHours are from 7am to 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday.  Sunday and Mondays off.

What are the benefits of being a park host?

In exchange for the park host’s work, you will receive:

bullet One RV site in our park.
bulletA monthly salary of $300.
bullet Access to fresh water, a dumpster, and a dump station.
bullet A storage location for a boat or extra vehicle.
bullet Opportunities for fishing and wildlife observation on the Gulkana  River.
bulletHost can fish from the banks at any time as long as one host is available to check in guests.

How are park hosts selected?

Park hosts must have their own RV, and are selected based on:

bullet Camping experience
bulletWe are looking for a responsible couple but would consider a single individual.
bullet Prior campground or park host experience
bullet Experience working with the public
bullet Length of time willing to be a park host
bullet Other skills that match park needs
